In Indonesia, martial arts are considered to be a part of the traditional national exercise culture, and also an expression of the national character. In the same way, sports, especially sports that use the body, are considered to be a part of the cultural and social identity of many people in the country. In this way, the IKSPI Kera Sakti school, founded in 1980, has been developing the Indonesian martial arts, namely the IKSPI technique.
In the same year, the school was founded by the Indonesian Army's 7th Special Forces in the city of Jakarta. The school's first instructors were the senior students of the school, namely the students who had already passed the IKSPI test. They were taught by the first instructor of the school, namely Professor R.S. D’Raja. In addition, the school began to train the national police force and various elite commandos.
